Diamond Ring Sugar Cookies

Remember those colorful, sugary button candies that you peel off a strip of paper? I’m bringing them back, people! Besides using them to create a unique table runner for your next dessert table, they make the perfect embellishment for my diamond ring sugar cookies.

I happened to find some at my local grocery store, although you can visit any candy store for supplies. These cookies are perfect for a bridal shower, engagement party, bachelorette event or any ladies night event!

Ingredients:

Your favorite cookie dough recipe

Jumbo blue and yellow button candy (About 1 sheet per cookie)

Bright blue writing icing (I used Cake Mate)

Frosting for ‘glue’

Instructions:

Roll cookie dough onto a floured surface and shape into diamonds using your cookie cutter.

Once cut out, bake cookies according to directions.

Spread a small amount of frosting around the bottom half of the cookie and stick on yellow button candy to form the gold band.

Next, spread frosting onto the entire stone part of the cookie and cover with blue button candy to create the diamond.

Use a toothpick to scrape off any access frosting.

Using your blue fondant writer, fill in the white gaps between the stone to make prongs.

Eat and enjoy your edible bling!
