I’ve always wanted to make kale chips, and once I realized how simple they were I wished I had started making them sooner. My friend Alaina of Believer in Food gave me her tips for making these in only a few quick steps.
When I say ‘chips’, I’m in no way delusional enough to think you’re going to permanently replace your favorite bag of rippled Lay’s for a leafy green bushel of kale. However, they are certainly an excellent savory, crunchy snack when you’re looking to munch on something a bit healthier. (And even your guests will agree they won’t be able to eat just one!)
I left off the ratios of ingredients because it’s really one of those things you just play around with; a little of this, a little of that. Feel free to spruce these up any way you’d like by substituting parmesan, vegan Rawmesan, garlic or onion powder, etc. The sesame soy flavor is incredibly addictive and satisfying that even with these you won’t be able to stop after just one bite!
Ingredients:
Kale
Olive oil spray (or put olive oil in a spray bottle)
Soy sauce (best in a spray bottle too!)
Sesame seeds
Instructions:
Place kale on a baking sheet. Spray with olive oil and soy sauce. Toss together.
Sprinkle on sesame seeds.
Place under broiler for at least 5 minutes, with the door open. (My oven wouldn’t let me keep the door open so I just watched carefully, not letting it burn.)
Eat and enjoy your healthy snack!
