My Mother’s Day gift came early, spending this month’s CT Style segment with the two best things I’ve ever made! Emma Reese, 4 was my sous chef decorating edible brownie artwork while Joshua Nolan, 9 3/4 months made his debut.

Your little ones will be able to express their creativity while working on fine motor skills, color and pattern recognition, as well as following directions when mixing and adding ingredients! A perfect gift or centerpiece for celebrating on Sunday! Tune in above for step by step instructions, and more tips for setting your table this Mother’s Day!

  • Your favorite brownie recipe or boxed mix (plus eggs, oil…)

About 1/2 tub of whipped vanilla or other white frosting

Sour Punch Bites candies, green only

Mint MnMs (or green from regular package)

    About 1/4 cup blueberries

    About 1/4 cup raspberries

    2 blackberries

    1 large strawberry

    1 gummy peach ring

    Yellow writing icing

    Blue sugar sprinkles

  • Bake brownies according to instructions.

Allow to cool, then frost completely.

Line green sour candies horizontally along bottom of brownie to create grass.

Use MnMs to create multiple flower stems in various heights by stacking in a vertical line above the sour candy “grass”.

Cut strawberry in half lengthwise, then fan out by making small slits from wide part to tip, being careful not to slice all the way through.

Top each stem with a bunch of berries, single berries or fanned strawberry.

Sprinkle blue sugar on top part of brownie, opposite of grass.

Place one peach ring on blue sky for the sun. Use your yellow writing icing to draw rays.

Eat and enjoy your child’s artwork with your family for Mother’s Day!
