My One Year Blog-iversary!

4

Exactly one year ago today, I set out on a journey without a GPS or definitive destination in mind. It was quite unusual for a planner like me (especially one with no sense of direction) to throw caution to the wind and take off full speed ahead, trusting I would end up where I belonged.

Initially, this was something I started just for myself. My personal project, a risk, a thought, an idea, a place to put my true passion. I never could have imagined that it would take me so far, or put so much truth into what a difference a year makes.

The first time a random reader commented on one of my posts, I felt elated. It was so humbling to know that people besides my close friends and family were interested in what I had to share. I still experience that rush of excitement whenever someone takes time out of their schedule to send me an e-mail or let me know they enjoy what I’m working so hard to do. It’s continued feedback like this that propels me from one day to the next.

I’ve been thinking about this significant anniversary for a while now, and how I would celebrate. I imagined writing some incredibly poignant message, commemorating these past 12 months, reflecting on various milestones and accomplishments, linking every other word to another page on the site to encourage more traffic and ending with a brilliant, inspiring summation.

Instead, I’ve chosen to pull over and take in the moment. I want to embrace the sincere gratitude I feel to be able to do what I love every single day and appreciate the incredible opportunities I’ve been given for growth as an individual and within my career. Most of all, I want to acknowledge how fortunate I am to be able to reach out and connect with all of you. Whether you subscribe, stop by weekly or stumble upon my site now and then, it’s because of you That’s SO Jenn is able to flourish.

I sincerely thank you for your continued support, for letting me into your life and for joining me on this culinary adventure.

Now buckle up. We’re going for another ride.
