These are almost too cute to eat. Almost…

Transform your cupcakes into pupcakes for your doggies next celebration or an animal themed people party! Unlike some of my other treats, these are for humans only–although they clearly have your four-legged friend in mind by the look of them! Check out the steps below to recreate these at home. It’s fun for the whole family!

*Happy 3rd Birthday to Mo’s doggie friend Charlie!*

Ingredients:

Vanilla cupcake recipe

Chocolate frosting

Chocolate sprinkles

Thin mint or Grasshopper cookies

Mini marshmallows

Blue or green fondant writer

Red MnMs

Hot tamales

Instructions:

Prepare cupcakes according to directions.

Once cooled, coat the tops completely with chocolate frosting.

Fill a bowl with chocolate sprinkles.

Dip cupcakes in sprinkles so they stick to the frosting.

Cut a slit on the right side of the cupcake for an ear.

And again on the left.

Cut cookies in half.

Push a half cookie into each side to form ears.

Cut a slit into the center of the cupcake for a nose.

Push a half cookie into that spot. Do you see the face beginning to form?

Cut mini marshmallows in half.

Dot the cut side of each with frosting.

Stick marshmallow above the cookie nose to form eyes.

Dot pupils on each marshmallow with your fondant writer.

Cut a slit into the bottom right side of the cupcake for the tongue.

Push a red MnM or a hot tamale into the slit.
