Looking for a quick solution to your weeknight dinner dilemma? That’s SO Jenn’s simple steak stir-fry (say that ten times fast!) is just the ticket. Packed with protein, iron, whole grains and veggies, this easy-to-make dish will have you sitting down with your family in no time.
I’ve borrowed a little help from the store with some pre-cooked beef, then utilized my stocked pantry to whisk together a flavorful, few-ingredient sauce. Frozen broccoli is an easy go-to when you don’t have fresh on hand, while brown rice will keep you feeling full with just the right balance of hearty carbs.
It’s the taste of take-out right at your stove!
Ingredients:
*Serves 2*
For the stir-fry
1 (6 oz.) package pre-cooked sliced steak (feel free to substitute chicken or tofu!)
1 (12 oz.) package steam-in-bag broccoli florets
2 cups instant brown rice
1-2 tablespoons sesame seeds
For the sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon jarred minced garlic
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons gyoza sauce (I used Trader Joe’s brand)
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
Instructions:
Boil rice according to instructions.
Pour sesame oil into a pan.
Saute garlic over medium heat until golden brown.
Steam broccoli according to microwave instructions, then add it to the pan.
Stir together and brown slightly.
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, gyoza sauce and mustard powder.
Warm steak in the pan.
Pour sauce over top.
Stir together, incorporating the flavors.
Top with sesame seeds.
Serve over brown rice.
Eat and enjoy the good fortune of delicious food!
